“Harcon is going to demand that we move to his ship to be boarded for inspection. We are going to do that,” Tariq said out loud, mostly to himself though.
“Captain,” just about everyone on the bridge said at the same time.
“Moe move the Iron Hide to put the Majestic between us and Harcon’s ship. As we come under the Majestic and underneath his ship I want you to do a full burn. As soon as we clear the end of his ship make the jump,” Tariq said with that “Ah ha” tone that the crew knew and feared.
“Harcon is screaming at us to prepare for inspection and start moving towards him,” Moe said looking up from the controls.
“Predictable,” Tariq replied, “Moe tell Bilabo the plan. Hobbs get down to the engine room, Bilabo is going to need some help. Patch us back to Harcon.”
“We are not going to leave my cousin’s ship,” Hobbs snorted, rage written over his entire body.
“Yes we are Hobbs,” Tariq ordered, “We will be back, we will find out who did this, but we have a paying customer and Harcon wants our hides. Do you want to offer yours up as a sacrifice?”
Hobbs took a step forward towards Tariq, his hooves clench, he snorted loudly. Moe started to get up out of his chair. Tariq stood his ground meeting Hobbs glare.
“Take your shot,” Tariq said in an even tone, “Then get your ass to the engine room because we can’t do this without you.”
Hobbs stood there for what seemed like an eternity.
“Captain, Harcon is still screaming for you. We are coming around, under the Majestic and Bilabo is freaking out about damage to the engine,” Moe interrupted.
Hobbs glanced over at Moe, back at Tariq and then over Tariq’s shoulder where Liishi was standing in the back of the bridge watching everything unfold. She knew something more than she was sharing.
“Tell Bilabo to shut it,” Hobbs snorted to Moe, “We’ll be back?”
“Have I ever let you down,” Tariq replied, “and I don’t count that bov House of Pleasure.”
Hobbs started laughing, “Let’s get this going,” as he left the bridge laughing.
“What was that about,” Liishi asked?
“Long story, I’ll tell you if we get out of this,” Tariq replied, “Put Harcon on.”
“We will open fire if you do not respond…”
“Harcon, we are bringing our ship over to yours and preparing for boarding.”
“Acknowledged,” came the reply.
The Majestic had drifted underneath the front of the FNV Claw’s Bared. The Iron Hide II looked like it was trying to maneuver underneath the Majestic to reach the underside, central cargo bay on the Claw’s Bared. A brief burst of thrust shot the Iron Hide II down the length of the Claw’s Bared.
“Iron Hide II cut your engines and we will maneuver to you,” ordered the Claw’s Bared.
“Sorry, that hulk was in our flight path, we’ll get turned around,” Moe said as smooth as possible.
Tariq gave the signal, as the Iron Hide passed the engines.
As the Iron Hide II floated past the primary engines of the Claw’s Bared, the engines of the Iron Hide flared to life a second time. The ship launched forward and then disappeared.
“Commander, they jumped, as you expected,” an officer informed Commander Harcon.
Harcon nodded, “We will see them again. Send out recovery vehicles and get me a report on that ship.”
